Dr. N.P. Ravi Kumar, PhD, MLISc, M.A., and UGC NET J.R.F., presently working as University Librarian, FAC & Professor and Head i/c., University Computer Centre, PJTAU. Pursued education from Osmania University, Hyderabad. He began his career as an Assistant Professor in Library & Information Science at ANGRAU, Rajendranagar, in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh. Prior to joining PJTAU, he worked as a librarian at RG Kedia College for 4 years and for 1 year at the Salar Jung Museum under the Universal Digital Library Project as a Project Assistant.
He had 21+ years of professional experience in the field of Library & Information Science. He was the University Librarian (FAC) at PJTAU from August, 2019 to 02-04-2025 (5 Years, 5 Months) and the Head-in-Charge of the University Computer Centre, PJTAU, from 2023 to 15-04-2025 (1 Year, 11 Months). He is the Nodal Officer/Coordinator for ICAR-CeRA, KrishiKosh Institutional Repository under NARES, IRINS, ONOS, Plagiarism, ISBN, and Assigning University Publication numbers.
Teaching PGS-501 LIS Course for Post-Graduates from 2011 onwards. He has delivered 30 guest lectures at seminars/conferences/ trainings and sensitisation programs. He acted as Co-Director for the Three Week Winter School, the Two Week short course, and the One week capacity-building programme for LIS professionals working under NARS, sponsored by the Education Division, ICAR, New Delhi. Acted as Coordinator for One Week National Level Programme organised by KMC, PJTAU, funded by ICAR-NAHEP. Organised Three-Week MOOCs on IHSTLR in Two Phases as part of the ICAR-NAHEP.
He has organised around 70 programs at the University, State, and National levels as Member/Co-Director/Co-Convenor/Convenor/Coordinator/Director for Seminars/Conferences/Trainings/Sensitisation Programs organised by KMC/University Library. He has participated in more than 80 Seminars, Conferences, Trainings And Workshops. He has completed six MOOCs on SWAYAM Online and two MOOCs organised by NAARM, Hyderabad.
Acted as Co-PI for five externally funded projects, viz., ICAR NAIP e-Granth Project, Extramural Research Project on Designing Visibility Indicators for SAUs, NAHEP-IG Project and P.I. for the NAHEP IG Project (2019-2022), P.I. for NAHEP (IDP) W2W project. Published 12 articles in LIS peer-reviewed journals, 21 book chapters in seminars and conference proceedings. Associated with the editorial team for six books and six conference proceedings, compiled two special publications, “Compendium of Doctoral Dissertations APAU to PJTAU 1964 – 2024& Retrospective on Convocation Addresses from APAU to PJTAU 1964 – 2024”. He is also honoured with ”Life member of several LIS associations in India”.
