Introduction
The University offers Postgraduate (PG) and Doctoral (Ph.D.) degree programmes in Agriculture, Home Science & Agriculture Engineering. It offers M.Sc (Ag) degree programme in 13 disciplines and Ph.D degree programme in 10 disciplines and an MBA (Agribusiness Management) programme. In the Faculty of Community Science, the university offers PG and Ph.D degree programmes in 5 disciplines. In the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering, the University offers M.Tech degree programme in three disciplines.
The admission process in the university is based on the entrance examination conducted by the ICAR through ICAR PG-AIEEA and ICAR AICE – SRF (Ph.D.) for PG and Ph.D programmes respectively. In addition the university admits 30 per cent of students (supernumerary) under ICAR quota and allotted by ICAR. A number of students from the foreign countries (Ethiopia, Ghana, Afghanistan, Srilanka, Lesotho and Bhutan etc.,) are admitted based on their nomination by the Government of India. The In-service candidates pursuing their degree programme are also admitted from various State Governments/Other organizations. The university has developed the software for Student Academic Performance Repository for the PG programmes. The research topics for thesis work are selected essentially based on research gaps identified in the mandate crops through SLTP and feedback obtaining from farming community. Research activities focus on mandate crops, multidisciplinary themes, and public–private partnership (PPP) collaborations.
The university strives hard for improving quality of PG education and constantly follow the course curriculum suggested by ICAR from time to time. The university has state of art laboratories well maintained Central Instrumentation cell, computerized labs, virtual class rooms, Seminal halls, excellent library facilities, digital library with internet facilities.

As a plant breeder in pulses, she is actively involved in the pulses improvement breeding programme which leads to the development of nine high yielding pulses & millet varieties Viz., Greengram (MGG 347, MGG 348, MGG 351, MGG 385), Blackgram (MBG 207, MBG 1070, MBG 1073) Redgram ( MRG 1004) and Jowar (MJ278). As a research editor for the Journal of Research, ANGRAU, improved NAAS rating of journal from 1.0 to 3.86 at AICC & University press, PJTAU, Hyderabad. Enabled access to the journal on CABI full text repository with CABI.org UK, beneficiary to academics and students.
As a technical Officer to Dean PG studies strengthened PG programes by introducing new PG regulations, external examination system, admission to PG and Ph.D. programme by adopting ICAR-JRF & SRF ranks for first in the State Agricultural Universities and constituted to academic policies related to PG and Ph.D. programme.
She taught UG, PG and Ph.D. courses for the past fifteen (15) years in the Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding. She is contributed to revised course curricula of UG & PG programmes as faculty in the Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding. Reviewed PG e-learning course i.e Fundamentals of Biometrical Genetics under NAHEP programme. She has guided six doctoral students, eleven master’s students and co-chairman for M.Sc. and Ph.D. students in various areas of plant Breeding research. Published 80 research papers in various National and International Journals and she had a total of 335 citations.
Dr. K. B. Eswari is a recipient of several honors and awards viz., A. V. Krishnaiah memorial award of Gold metal for Best Scientist in Agricultural Sciences (2009), Nagarajarao Gold metal for Best Research worker (2011) in Pulse Research, Best poster presentation award by 93rd ISCA in the category of Agriculture & Forestry Sciences (2006), Best women Scientist award (2006), Sri Shakthi award (2017) and Dr. K. S. Behran Best paper award (2020) by ICAR, NRRI, Cuttack Odisha etc..
