Introduction

Agricultural Microbiology and Bioenergy

The Department of Agricultural Microbiology at Professor Jayashankar TelanganaAgricultural University (PJTAU) is dedicated to enhancing agricultural productivity through innovative microbial technologies. It plays a vital role in teaching, research, and extension activities related to soil, plant, and environmental microbiology. The department aims to develop microbial solutions to improve nutrient use efficiency, crop productivity, and ecological sustainability. With advanced laboratory facilities and experienced faculty, the department provides a strong academic and research foundation for postgraduate students.

    Why this Programme?

Agricultural Microbiology is a rapidly evolving field with significant contributions to sustainable farming, biotechnological advancements, and environmental management. The M.Sc. programme in Agricultural Microbiology offers in-depth understanding and practical training in beneficial microbes, biofertilizers, biopesticides, microbial ecology, and molecular microbiology. Students are equipped to address current and future challenges in agriculture, such as declining soil fertility, climate change, and the need for eco-friendly agricultural inputs.
