Microbiology

The Department of  Microbiology at Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTAU) is dedicated to enhancing agricultural productivity through innovative microbial technologies. The M.Sc. programme in Agricultural Microbiology offers indepth understanding and practical training in beneficial microbes, biofertilizers, biopesticides, microbial ecology, and molecular microbiology. Students are equipped to address current and future challenges in agriculture, such as declining soil fertility, climate change, and the need for eco-friendly agricultural inputs. The department aims to develop microbial solutions to improve nutrient use efficiency, crop productivity, and ecological sustainability. With advanced laboratory facilities and experienced faculty, the department provides a strong academic and research foundation for postgraduate students.
