Environmental Science

 Environmental science is a complex, interdisciplinary domain that employs a multidisciplinary approach to analyze, interpret and provide solutions to contemporary and emerging environmental challenges. The Department of Environmental Sciences was established in the University under the Center for Natural Resource and Environment (C-NARE) on October, 2025 offering M.Sc. Agriculture (Environmental Science) from the academic year 2025-26 with an intake of four students.  Its mandate includes the development and dissemination of cost-effective, easily adoptable and eco-friendly technologies designed to provide climate-resilient sustainable solutions in agro ecosystem services and promote sustainability within agro ecosystems. The overarching goal of the department is to address multifaceted challenges such as pollution, resource depletion, biodiversity loss and climate change, while simultaneously promoting waste-to-wealth initiatives to secure a sustainable future for humanity and the planet. Graduates with Master’s degree in Environmental Science can pursue diverse and rewarding career paths, viz., environmentalists, environmental protection activists, or specialists in Environmental Protection Training and Research Institutes. They can serve as Assistant Professors in State Agricultural Universities, Scientists within ICAR and CSIR systems, or globally as researchers in CGIAR institutions. Additionally, they can work as consultants and specialists in national and multinational industries, practice as environmental professionals, or establish themselves as successful entrepreneurs in the field of environmental sustainability.
