  • To develop cotton sucking pests tolerant hybrids / varieties suitable to different ecosystems of Telangana State
  • To develop techniques for sucking pest management in cotton
  • To develop/identify Stem fly and stem girdler pests tolerant/resistant varieties suitable to different ecosystems of Telangana State
  • To develop effective pest management strategies against insect pests of Soybean
  • To develop high yielding  Soybean  varieties  with  disease  resistance, pod shattering tolerance and high seed germinability, suitable for sole and intercropping systems
  • To use both heterosis and recombination breeding methods so as to exploit both heterosis and transgressive segregation for isolating desired genotypes (high yield, earliness, compact plant type, good fiber quality etc.) of American cotton (G. hirsutumL.).
  • To standardize the agro-techniques for soybean cultivation.
  • To evaluate soybean varieties at various crop geometry, methods of sowing and nutrient levels.
  • To evaluate the traditional farming systems and study transferability improved dryland technology to the farmer’s fields.

Current Projects

  • AICRP on Soybean; AICRP on Dryland Agriculture; AICRP on Cotton (sub centre); AICRP on Sorghum (Need based evaluation centre); Project on Insecticide Resistance Management (IRM): Dissemination of Pink Bollworm Management Strategies; TSP under AICRP on Soybean; AICRP on Safflower (VC) funded by ICAR. Establishment of Cosmic Ray Soil Moisture Instrument for validation of Model Computed Soil Moisture” under National Hydrology Project (NHP), at ARS, Adilabad funded by Government of India. Creation of Seed hubs for enhancing quality seed availability of major oilseed crops funded by Mo A, GoI (Under NFSM)

  • Registration of ADB-542 (Adilabad Kapas-1) with PPV & FRA under the category of Extant variety
  • Chickpea: Adilabad Shanaga-2 (ADBeG-2), a high yielding (2067-2678 kg/ha), wilt resistant and short duration (100-105 days) chickpea variety was released through SVRC in the year 2024. 
  • High-density planting system in cotton
  • Novel insecticide molecules sucking pest management of cotton through stem application
  • Release of Standard Operating Protocols (SOPs) for Drone based pesticide application in Cotton
  • Best Poster Presentation in National Conference on validation of yellow mosaic disease resistance in soybean using SSR markers during 12-13th December, 2024
  • PJTSAU -Best Research Scientist Award on 03.09.2022 from PJTSAU, R’nagar, Hyderabad
  • Developed soybean high yielding variety Basara (ASb 22)
  • Developed Anthracnose pod blight resistant variety AISb 50 (Adilabad Indore Soyachikkudu-1) with yield potential of 25-30  q/ha
  •  Enhancing crop diversification and Resilience through Soybean-Pigeonpea Strip Intercropping.
  • Novel bio formulations for yield enhancement in soybean recommended for southern zone of India.
  • Introduction and popularization of chickpea varieties NBeG 47, NBeG 3 & NBeG 119 under RKVY project at Adilabad district.
  • Demonstration of cotton sowing with Pneumatic planter under high density planting system.
  • Demonstration of sowing of cotton on Ridge and furrow method of cultivation in cotton.
  • Demonstration on sowing of Soybean in Broad Bed & Furrow system
  • Conducting Kisan Mela and Awareness programmes under IRM & RKVY projects.
