Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTAU)

’Rythu Mungitlo Shastravethhalu “, a Six-week-long outreach program scheduled from 5th May 2025 to 13th June 2025 , first of its kind ,initiated by Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTAU) . A team of 200 University scientists, along with officials from the Department of Agriculture covered 1,200 villages across Telangana and more than 70000 farmers, 25 MLAs and MLCs, members of the State Agriculture Commission, district administration officials, school students, teachers and local representatives participated in the programme.

The program was formally launched on May 5th 2025 at Dharur village, Vikarabad district by Shri Tummala Nageswara Rao in the presence of Shri G. Prasad Kumar, Hon’ble Speaker of the Legislative Assembly,  Shri Kodanda Reddy, Agriculture Commission Chairman, and Prof. Aldas Janaiah , Hon’ble Minister Vice-Chancellor, PJTAU.

The event held at Kondareddypalli, the native village of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Anumula Revanth Reddy, witnessed the participation of Dr. Mallu Ravi, MP, Nagarkurnool while in Palem, the Vice-Chairman of the State Planning Board Dr. G. Chinna Reddy participated.

During the six-week campaign, scientists, students, and officials educated farmers on six key themes:
1. Reducing input costs by minimizing urea usage
2. Judicious use of chemicals to preserve soil health
3. Preserving receipts for input purchases
4. Saving irrigation water
5. Diversification of Crops for sustainable income
6. Planting trees to protect the environment.
