Dr. Boga Neeraja Prabhakar, born in 1966, June, 29^th., graduated from APAU in B.Sc. (Ag) (1987) and earned her M.Sc. Ag (Horticulture) in 1989, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad. She earned P.G. Diploma in Personnel Management from Annamalai University. Dr. Neeraja Prabhakar earned doctoral degree in Horticulture from Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University in the year 1998. She worked as Assistant Superintendent in Timber and Plantation Department at the Singareni Collieries Company Limited, Godavarikhani from 1989 to 1992. Later she joined in APAU as ARO-Nursery i/c at Fruit Research Station, Sangareddy on 30^th June 1994 and served for 30 years viz; in Research (11 years), Teaching (15 years) and Administration (4 years). During her tenure she has guided 32 PG/Ph.D. students as chairman and member of advisory committee. She has published about 124 research papers in peer reviewed National and International journals. Contributed in authoring four chapters in Two books, Five extension booklets, four bulletins, 130 popular articles and also presented 34 research papers in National and International conferences and officially visited Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Israel countries. She gained vast experience in the field of vegetable crops during her research career and is the first person who worked on water requirement studies in onion. Edited a Telugu book “Andhra Pradesh lo Kooragayala Saagu” (2004) which was revised and published thrice and is considered as bible for vegetable crops cultivation for farming community.

She was the first regular Vice Chancellor of Sri Konda Laxman Telangana Horticultural University (SKLTGHU), Mulugu, Siddipet Dist. (from 15.01.2022 to 18-10-2024). She is first woman VC among 74 SAUs (State Agricultural Universities) across India. Under her Chairmanship, the visibility of Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University has increased manifold across the country and abroad universities.

She has received “State level Best Scientist Award” from Honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhar Reddy in 2007 for her relentless services to farming community. She has received “University Meritorious Teacher Award” (2010) from Dr. M. S. Swaminathan on 41^st Convocation of ANGRAU. “Badam Saroja Jayanthi Puraskaram” (2011) from Dr. C. Narayana Reddy and Sri. T.G. Venkatesh. Also received “State Best Teacher Award” (2019) from Govt. of Telangana. She has received “Best Organization Women Empowerment Award” during the 3^rd International Inspirational Women Awards (IIWA) 2022 on April 30, 2022 organized by GISR Foundation. Also awarded “Queen of the Nation 2022” on the eve of International Women’s Day by Viswaguru World Records Team, Hyderabad on 12^th March 2022. She has received “CHAI Honorary Fellow Award 2022” from Confederation of Horticulture Association of India (CHAI) New Delhi on 28^th May 2022. She also has received “Best Oral Presentation Award” during the National Conference on Value Chain Management in Spices and Aromatic Plants for Profit Optimization and Resilience held at Jalgaon, Maharashtra from 18-19 January 2025.
