- To develop suitable cropping system and water management strategy for the command areas of Sri Ram Sagar Ayacut Area.
- Development of high yielding varieties with tolerance to biotic & abiotic stress in rice and sesame.
- Development of innovative technologies in crop production and protection of various agricultural crops under different farming situations.
- To coordinate multi-location testing at state and national level in order to identify appropriate varietal and management technologies for various crops under different eco-systems.
- Production and supply of breeder / foundation seed of rice and sesame to public/private organizations and farming community.
- To develop and manage information systems on short range weather forecasting and agro-advisory.
- To provide training and regular advises to the farmers and agricultural department officers for increasing the productivity and decreasing the cost of cultivation.
- Developed varieties in rice and sesame tolerant to biotic and abiotic stresses, physical grain and seed quality traits. Developed suitable crop production and protection technologies to enhance the farm profitability with environmental friendly practices for the mandate crops of the station
Current Projects
- Common incubation center for rice and mango processing lines funded by PMFME scheme.
- Pilot Project on Supply chain Management (Ag-hub Rural innovation spoke, Jagtial).
- Identification of improved rice lines with broad spectrum resistance to multiple biotic stresses and high yield through translational approach” funded by DBT.
