Millet Processing anf Incubation Centre

The Millet Processing and Incubation Centre was established in 2013 under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) with the objective of strengthening millet-based technology development, commercialization, and entrepreneurship. The Centre serves as a hub for technology transfer, incubation support, and capacity building for students, farmers, self-help groups, and food entrepreneurs.

The Centre is equipped with primary and secondary millet processing facilities, enabling the conversion of all major millets into commercially viable and health-oriented food products such as grits, flours, pasta, noodles, bakery products, and extruded snacks. Millets processed at the Centre are rich in micronutrients and phytonutrients, offering significant health benefits across all age groups and contributing to nutritional security, particularly among underprivileged populations.

Through its integrated approach combining research, processing, training, and outreach, the Centre plays a vital role in empowering society and enterprises while promoting millet-based value chains.

Vision: To advance millet-based nutrition, innovation, and entrepreneurship for sustainable food and livelihood systems.

Mission: To develop, process, and commercialize millet-based technologies and food products through research-driven incubation, capacity building, and technology transfer, supporting students, farmers, and enterprises.
