The Common Incubation Centre (CIC) for Millets was established with support from the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Government of India, under the PMFME Scheme, to bridge the gap between primary millet processing and advanced value-added food production. The Centre enables farmers, micro-enterprises, and entrepreneurs to access modern processing technologies and adopt improved practices for millet-based products.
The facility is being strengthened with expanded infrastructure and new processing lines for Ready-to-Eat (RTE) millet products, providing opportunities to enhance farmer incomes and support innovation in millet food processing. The Centre offers hands-on exposure to modern millet processing machinery, promoting skill development, technological adoption, and entrepreneurship across the millet value chain.
Through its incubation and capacity-building initiatives, the CIC for Millets plays a key role in creating sustainable market linkages, innovation-driven enterprises, and scalable business models in the millet sector.
Vision: To build a vibrant and sustainable millet-based food ecosystem that empowers farmers and entrepreneurs through innovation and value addition.
Mission: To enable millet processing and entrepreneurship by providing modern infrastructure, technical mentoring, and business development support, fostering scalable and market-ready millet enterprises.
